I have been suffering with a burning tongue for several months. I decided that it started when I started taking Lexapro, though otherwise, I am doing great on the Lexapro. I think it could be tied to this burning tongue thing.

Any ideas, has anyone had this before? How do you treat it!!
Thanks!!!

Gayla,

It's not listed as one of the side effects of Lexapro. Do you think it could be anything else? Lexapro does cause dry mouth which can make certain foods or beverages taste sharper or stronger. I know one older woman who can't drink alcohol at all because it burns so bad. She has dry mouth from something called Sjogrens Syndrome.

Or have you just been eating too many hot peppers??!! (Just kidding!)

There's lots of products to help with dry mouth. I have it because of some of my fibro meds. I use Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash and gum. It really helps.
