I posted in the Living Room about getting my wisdom teeth removed yesterday...
I told the surgeon that I thought all antibiotics would upset my stomach, and I was scared to take them - but now I'm really worried about infection - that might hurt worse!
Does anyone know an antibiotic that is the LEAST harmful to our stomaches that I could go on for 5 days?? My doctor is calling me this morning to see how everything is going! I'm in SO much pain and I don't want more pain in my stomach!

Poor Cara. Anitbs and I have a bad history even pre IBS days. I have taken a low dose of amoxicillin without very bad results just general yuckiness but no cramping. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE THEM ON A FULL STOMACH though. Anti-inflammatories absolutely kill my tummy. I recommend phoning your pharmacy/drugstore or even explaining your sensitive stomach to your surgeon. I couldn't take the pain meds when I got my wisdom teeth out so I know how you feel... take care

I just recommended the same kind in the Living Room. See my post there. Had no problem with it.

Flagyl is best tummy tolerated, but don't know if it is right for post-surgical recovery. You can always ask.

I just had my wisdom teeth out a few months ago and was put on antibiotics. I don't remember the name, but it didn't make me sick at all. I am taking the anitbiotic AMOXICILLIN right now for another infection and it is treating me just fine. I think you'll be fine with whatever your dentist suggests.
