I was drinking my smoothie tonight and thinking uummmm oranges would be good in this. I know that orange juice is way off limits. But what about mandarin ones?? I don't think of them as acidy but instead really sweet. Is that true or only because they taste that way??

So can I use them or not I guess is what I am asking?
Thanks, melissa

Not a dumb question at all! I love mandarin oranges. You are right - orange juice is way too acidic, but considering the oranges are pureed and incorporated with soy milk and bananas (or anything else you put in), I would give it a try! For the first couple times, try very small amounts like one or two little slices - the flavour I expect will come right through. It sounds yummy. Let us know how it turns out.

I tried that- but after a fgood meal, 1/2 glass, worked for me. lots of brand names came out of low acid orange juice, not sour at all - no acid.
