I know it was suggested previously but I would have the second the idea of not eating too much at one sitting! I find that's my biggest trigger. Like you I eat till I'm full & still continue to eat. I find I do MUCH better when I have smaller portions. I've also found that if I wait about 20 minutes after a meal, I'm actually not hungry anymore. I guess my stomach knows I'm full but it takes a while to register in my brain. I'd stay away from veggies & insolubles till you feel more stable.
I wish I had more advice & that you feel better soon

You are very right and I have been sitting here thinking about really doing that now! I might need a slap on the wrist once in awhile though if I pig out. I have been blaming the prednisone for my piggishness.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Oh Sweetie, I go through streaks like this every once in a while also and it can be really terrible. I find that once I'm this bad, the only thing that helps is a mega dose of anti-spasm drugs, donnatal works best for me, and heavy narcotic drugs, vicodin works best. When I'm in a cycle like this, I have to break the cycle and usually only the heavy narcotics will do it. The heating pad will help with the pain. Strat taking the maxium dose of gas-x for at least a few days to see if that helps some. Even if you don't really think its gas, try the gas-x, it really helps me. I don't think fasting is a good idea. Try to eat small meals, several times a day instead. Be sure you are drinking a ton of water right now also. I know the last thing you want to do is exercise but try to at least take a short walk everyday, that can help get things calmed down also! I hope you start feeling better soon!

Here's the link, sweetie. web page I think it might just give your old tummy a break for a couple of days and start fresh. Can't hurt and may help you stabilize.

Prednisone will make you very hungry. What are you taking that for, if I may ask?
