Can anyone tell me if water ice is a good snack?? Where I live we have Rita's water ice and it is so good. I guess it's made of fruit and ice?? I know NOT to get the custard on top, but i think the water ice itself should be ok??

Thank You

I had a water ice from Rita's the other day for the first time. I got mango flavor. I had no bad reactions to it. It was SOOOO GOOOD! I've been craving another one since.

I beleive water ice is okay as long as you watch out for the high fructrose corn syrup, that could be a killer !

Just something to note in general, cold can trigger the digestive system in IBS and a warm liquid can help soothe it sometimes.

Not that there is anything wrong with these kinds of things in general just something to know about, that muscles will react to cold and heat and the digestive system is of course made up of muscles.

Sometimes people come inside from the heat and drink ice water for example and it is possible for that even to trigger an IBS attack sometimes.

shawneric,
what about pool water? I just got a new pool and plan to spend many happy days in it. Can swimming around in ince cold water trigger an attack?

Heat and cold can stress the bdoy and cause an attack. However, cold can also reduce stress, so if you have physcial heat stress, the pool is going to help reduce it.

If you ate and then when swimming it might also.

Swimming is also good excersise and can promote bowel function.

There are so many triggers to IBS, I would not worry to much go swimming and have a good time.

I know when I swim, when I am done sometimes I bloat out and still not totally sure why that happens, it might have to do with abdomianl tone.
