Are Strawberries a tolerable or stay away fruit???? We are thinking of going Strawberry picking with the kids this weekend- seeing it is the season here in Ontario. Thanks!!

Hi! I live near London, Ontario, and strawberry season is my favourite season of the year. As with all fresh fruit, the seeds and the juices and can be triggers. If you're really craving some raw, serve a FEW up with some angel food cake. (Angel food cake is a great soluble fiber low fat tasty treat). I often have angel food, berries and ultra low fat cool whip and tolerate it just fine - so long as it's after a safe meal.
If you find that you can't tolerate them at all raw, try my strawberry pie recipe on the recipe board. That way, they are slightly cooked and in a graham cracker crust which is a good soluble fiber base.

Throw a couple in the blender with some soy milk, honey and a banana. They are much more tolerable all blended up! Yummy too!
