I read that turkey is too "greasy" for people with IBS to eat. Has anyone else heard that, or experienced any problems eating fresh turkey or deli turkey. I've read so much on IBS that I don't know what is true and what is a guess.

White meat turkey is perfectly safe. If they were referring to dark meat, then they were right on, but if they were talking about ALL turkey, they didn't know what they were talking about.

I stay away from the gravy though. That has done me in a few times.

Turkey breast meat is completely safe. Greasy turkey must mean that it's got dark meat and/or skin.
When buying ground turkey or turkey burgers I have found many of them have way too much fat. I stick with ground turkey breast which has 1 gram for 4 oz. or I read all the labels very carefully for turkey burgers making sure there's nothing bad added into them and that the fat content is okay. The Southwest Turkey burgers at Trader Joes have 3 grams of fat and are fine to eat (taste great too)
Good luck, Leigh

Not surprising. Gravy is way too fatty for us. I usually stick with cranberry sauce, and I'm fine.

I make gravy that is safe.. from fat free chicken stock!! I've always made it from stock... Bill hasn't caught on yet... and this year he knows I have to make it from something else- he's smoking the bird, so no drippings for me... debating having him smoke the potatoes too because they are so yummy that way!
