Is new IBS diagnosis the answer to a lot of old problems?

I received my formal IBS-A diagnosis in early October but I know I've been dealing with IBS-C since my late teens (I'm currently 46). I've started modifying my diet as described by Heather & I'm already feeling better. I've read through past posts & now I'm wondering how many other IBS symptoms I've unknowingly been dealing with over the years. I've seen references to nausea as a symptom & I can definitely tie my experiences with nausea to IBS. How about fatigue, difficulty concentrating and just a general malaise? My IBS 'attacks', which I clearly recognize now after I eat a trigger food, consist of an intense combo of the previously mentioned symptoms. Could the general experience of feeling run down, lethargic & foggy that I've experienced on & off have been a result of IBS also??

yes yes yes and a big fat yes. esp with ibs c there is a lot of fogginess, difficulty concentrating, tiredness, moodiness, achy body....just yuckiness. nausea is a common symptom of ibs too...welcome to the fold and so glad the diet is working for you!
