These are all natural fresh, whole, unpeeled russet potatoes baked with some safflower oil. That's it. No preservatives, no added food starch or sugar or anything else. The Lays baked chips have those extras added in so I thought the Kettle Krisps would be better. The problem is in the word unpeeled.

Does that matter in something as thin as a baked potato chip?

Unpeeled should be fine. I am not familiar with these chips but please make sure they are very low in fat. The fat is really, really important.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I eat a massive bag of these almost every day since getting to the US...I am going to turn into a potato! I love them and they really hit the snack spot!

I've never had these but they look ok IF, and I stress the IF they are low fat....

Besides, Baked Lays are not on the safe GF list if you are still trying to eat totally GF...so...I'll have to look for these for myself! Thanks for mentioning.

Didn't realize Baked Lays were not certified GF. I eat these too all the time, but the Kettle Krisps have nothing in them except the potato and a tiny amount of oil. Try them!

So can these chips be used as a soluble fiber base before eating canned fruits or a cooked fruit?

I personally would prefer something like rice or pasta before eating insolubles, but that is just me. It makes me feel safer, and when I feel safer, I'm less likely to get an attack from stressing about whether I'm going to get an attack. I don't know if the chips have enough soluble fiber to be used as a base by themselves though.
