Hi all,

Just wondering what is best for IBS--always buy natural food products with few ingredients/additives, OR, lower fat alternatives? (i.e. Peanut Butter) This is, of course, when "homemade" is not really an option.

Would like any input/opinion on this subject.

Thanks!

I go for less additives (not neccesarily less ingredients) and higher fat, but then I'm not THAT sensitive to fats and additives make me feel crappy.

With Peanut butter, I'd go for the regular kind with less crap in it and have more bread to less peanut butter. I bought low-fat PB and hated it.

I always use low fat peanut butter. Skippy creamy. It still has 12 grams of fat per 2 T. I use it lightly on toast once in awhile and make thai peanut sauce sometimes with a little. Nothing too scary on the ingredients label.
