I was diagnosed with them after my colonoscopy. He told me to get some supositories(sp?). I think they were called Anusul. They were over the counter. I think they were in the section with the Tuck's/Preparation H or the Cortizone creams. Sorry my memory is working because it's been over a year and I bought them on the way from my colonoscopy and I was little loopy.

Prep H wipes helps to cool it down too. About $5 for 48 wipes.

I have had them off and on for eleven years. They actually did surgery ten years ago and I had no more problems until three years ago. My GI at the time gave me a nitro-glycerin gel to put on it and it worked. I have had some more problems recently, but have an appointment to set up a colonoscopy in July. I hope it gets better for you.

I just went into the doctor for that myself today. The best remedy I've found: WARM BATHS. No salts or bubbles. Sounds gross, but if you go to the loo and then don't wipe but just get in the bath it really helps. My doctor (a colorectal surgeon, not a GI) said not to use suppositories or tucks wipes but to make sure to wipe with moist tissue, the kind you would use on a baby. also, make sure you're taking enough psyllium (of course). and i'm probably going to have surgery; have you been to a doctor about this?
