I'll take a benedryl to sleep at night. It's the same thing, dyphenhydramine, only without the acetaminophen (paracetamol). If I wake up at night, I'll take another. Sometimes it's a little hard to wake up, but I manage.
I avoid Tylenol PM, tho (it's the active ingredient, dyphenhydramine HCL, PLUS acetaminophen). I take a lot of acetaminophen already with the T/3s I take, so I get liver tests 2ce a year to make sure I'm not doing long-term damage.
Just take the benedryl.

I used to. I did nothing for me. I still couldn't sleep. I heard melatonin or valerian root work well. Tylenol, I belive it can build up over time in your liver (I am pretty sure it's the liver or maybe the stomach) but the herbs sound a lot safer with less or no long tearm side effects.

I used the Tylenol Sleep when I was having trouble sleeping due to the prednisone. It doesn't have the pain reliever in it. It did help me sleep.

Hi,
I use Tylenol "Simply Sleep". It has the sleep ingredient (same as benadryl) but not the tylenol. It's not good to take tylenol every day, especially if you don't have pain. I have been using Simply Sleep for several years and I only have to take 1 tablet instead of 2. I haven't had any problems and my doc said it was OK long term.
Good luck Barbie

I tried Benadryl and had a weird-ish reaction in the middle of the night. Maybe it doesn't agree with my AD?

Very true, I don't need any liver problems. Good point!
