I was wondering if anyone here has taken this anti-depressant. My dr. prescribed it today, but the pharmacy had no 20 mg. I am to pick it up tomorrow. Can anyone tell me what to expect? Thanks so much!

Kathy, what a coincidence! My doctor just mentioned it last week as a possible alternative to my Effexor! I believe it's in the same family, a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SSNRI), so the side effects would be similar. You can look it up on rxlist.com. Here's the link:
Cymbalta
Nausea seems to be the biggest side effect, but that would lessen significantly within a week or two as your body got used to the med.
Let me know how it goes!

If you are getting tablets, I strongly recommend you cut each into quarters and start with a quarter tablet and then increase to a half after 3-4 days, etc. Really helps limit the side effects. If it's capsules, you are out of luck.

Hi, I have C-IBS with lots of pain and gas. I'm considering taking this Rx so would really appreciate hearing how it went for you.
Did you get any benefit from taking this? What side-effects did you have that lasted longer than the first 1-2 weeks?
