Hi there. I really like to have a sandwich at lunch. I can use white bread and mustard, but can I have 98% Fat Free turkey on it? Should I make sure to eat some soluable fiber before I even eat this? Thanks in advance! Tomorrow I start this diet for the first time, to try and curb my symptoms, and I want to do it right. ~Emily

Welcome Emily!! Good for you for starting the diet! The turkey should be fine for starters. And no you don't need to eat other soluble fiber first, the bread in the sandwich should be enough. Longer term, you might want to check out real roast turkey breast from the deli counter at your supermarket. It's even safer!

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Welcome. I can eat turkey & I can also eat ham. I don't know if others can eat ham, but I can. Good luck to you.

Hi Emily & Welcome,
I eat a turkey sandwich with mustard almost every day for lunch & haven't had any problems. My biggest problem is when I simply eat too much or have fried foods. Both big triggers for me.
Good Luck to you

Hi Emily! 99% of the people on here will have no problems with cold meats at all. Turkey or chicken on white is a very safe meal, and you shouldn't need additional soluble fiber before eating it.

I'm the 1% weirdo who can't eat cold meats. But I can't eat *anything* cold, that's a major trigger for me.

Good luck! And welcome to the boards!

Welcome, I eat a lot of turkey sandwiches with no problem. This has really saved me, especially in finding things I can order at various restaurants.

Welcome to the boards!

I can eat turkey or chicken in my sandwiches and it does not give me a problem.

Just try it!

Cold cooked turkey is fine; I eat it every day for lunch.

I can even eat cold cooked ham. I avoid smoked meat.
