I was reading the October issue of Redbook, and noticed on one of the advertising pages a product from Digestive Advantage. It says it's for the "dietary management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and it helps relieve diarrhea, constipation and everything in between with one tablet a day." Does this sound too good to be true to anyone else??? Love to hear what everyone thinks or if you've heard of it. Oh, the website (that I'm going to after this post) is www.ganedenbiotech.com

Do a search of these boards for "Digestive Advantage"; it's been discussed several times. Seems that it's just a probiotic/ fiber supplement; potentially helpful but certainly not the miracle drug the ad makes out.

Hi, Beth. I have never heard of it, but the website offered a free 8 day sample. I'm going to try it. If you decided against the free sample, I will post how it works. I think it probably is "too good to be true", but it's worth a shot. I will try anything at this point!

I'm going to try the free sample as well...it can't hurt! I did do a search on the message boards for Digestive Advantage, and there were mixed reviews. I guess I'm going to add it to the diet that seems to be working so far alone. Take care and good luck with the sample

Hi. I'm not sure how to post a request for information, and I apologize for just jumping right in here. I am new to the site. I have an 8 year old boy who has been kind of miserable lately with abdominal pain, nausea, and joint pain. This all seems to come in waves, but seems to be worse an hour or two after eating a meal. His appetite is fine -- he eats well, but is pretty thin. He is usually very active, but tires easily lately and NEVER fights me to go to bed anymore, which is not like him. He has dark circles under his eyes and is often very pale. And then you turn around, and he looks great and ready for action.
He has been seen by his pediatrician who is hesitant to do invasive testing, but we did rule out parasites. I have made an appointment with a pediatric gastroenterologist. My brother has Crohn's disease. I know my 8 yr. old is young for that, and does not seem to have all the classic symptoms.
I'm wondering if these symptoms sound familiar to anyone with IBS. Is joint pain common with IBS? I would so appreciate a response. Thank you!
