Hi, everybody! Time flies quickly. Seems like just a few days ago you were all helping me countdown to 7 months with no D. And now I'm just two days short of 8 months!!

If I make it through today and tomorrow I will have achieved a new record for me, 8 months D free!! Shouldn't be a problem because I'm very stable now thanks to Heather's diet, my SFS and my meds. I really appreciate all the support and encouragement I've gotten from everyone here. So keep your fingers crossed for me until Friday morning, when I can declare victory!

FANTASTIC ! So happy for you. I just started so this is encouraging for me. Right now, two days is my max, but it definitely feels great for those few days. Hoping it will get better.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Laura! I'm into my 6th month of being attack free. I never dreamed I'd be able to say that. Thank God for Heather & this board. A grin for each month.

LauraSue...I am so happy for you. You are always so sweet with replying to my posts...esp when they are panicky. I hope this lack of D continues for the rest of your life and you never ever experience an attack again. It is so inspiring for those of us still making our way through the thorny forest!!! Please keep writing every month each time you make it through, it really encourages everyone.
Hope you celebrate with a safe piece of cake!!!
Lots of love

You know you'll hit that 8-month mark on Friday... go you!!

I made it 6 weeks, and I was thrilled. These darned medications broke my streak, but I'm encouraged now, because it IS possible... and examples like yours remind me of that, too. Yay, Laura!

Thanks, everybody! So far so good!

How did I do it? There's no magic secret. I just followed Heather's diet really carefully, took my SFS religiously, and took meds aggressively rather than reluctantly. I made it my highest priority to keep my tummy happy.

My SFS happens to be Metamucil which was what my doctor recommended and which luckily agreed with me fine.

My meds are Bentyl (dicyclomine) prescription anti-spasmodic every day, Gas-X (simethicone) anti-gas every day and Imodium every time my tummy gurgles the teensiest bit. I also get help from the Elavil (amitriptyline) that I take every night for my fibromyalgia sleep disorder.

I also avoid stress like the plague and try to exercise every day.
