Can anyone tell me how to find out if these meds might cause stomach problems?
I've been having bad allergy problems and tried them to make life more tolerable(sneezing, crazy itchy eyes, etc.)
So nt. before last and yesterday I tried both of these(one for nt. and one is nndrowsy for daytime).
I felt miserable all day.My stomach hurt so bad and none of the usual therapies I use helped(rest, exercise, hot bath, relaxing, distraction). I thought I might explode the bloatng wa so bad and it made my tum so tight and sore, plus lot of gas from both ends. I could hardly stop burping.
Any ideas? Thanks,

Just don't take them on an empty stomach. That is what makes my stomach cramp! Try taking them right after you eat---preferably with some soluble fiber, like Rice Chex, bread, or potato.

Hi Su,

I don't have any stomach problems with allergy meds. I take one benadryl every night to help me sleep and it has never bothered me.

I think BL is right, though. It might help to take them with food.

Try doing a search on the net on these meds and side effects and see what you come up with.

Thanks. That is a good idea.Should of thought of that. Right now I am too afraid to try taking anything until I am sure it is safe.I was so sick for 2 days. Whatever my dr. reccomends I will check to see the side affects ahead of time and take w/food.

Thanks barbie. Thank heaven I am feeling much better. That was one of my worst attacks as far as pain goes.
It's good to know about the Benadryl.
I did do a search yesterday and one of the two said don't take if you have ulcers. Made me wonder if that was a warning sign I should have considered.
I have called my dr. to see if she has any other presc. that would be safe.I explained to the nurse why i am so concerned. Hopefully that will help.
