HI,
I just found a wonderful soy cheese called mini Chol, it is made in Melbourne and tastes delicious. I found it in the Gourmet cheese section in Safeway, not the regular cheese section. It tastes great cooked as well, grates really easily, my son even eats it

Thanks Trish,
I live in Brisbane so I don't know whether I'll be able to get it or not. Does it melt OK?

It melts like a dream and tastes so good. I will get the name of the company and ring them and find out where they deliver.

Thanks so much Trish, I would really appreciate that. I use a soy cheese made by King Island(available in Woolies) which is OK but doesn't melt at all. Their cream cheese is nice though. I put it on my sandwhiches instead of margarine. I look forward to hearing from you. Kerrie

Look forward to finding out where the cheese is available - I live in Adelaide. I have not tried soy cheese yet, and don't know what sort of taste to expect.....

It is very nice but there are a fair few preservatives in it, if that doesn't bother anyone then it is a good choice.

Thanks Trish - I found the soy 'margarine' the other day that you suggested, and although i was a bit sceptical about the taste (being a butter lover!) when using it in cooking, I could not notice a difference, so thanks! Mandy

Here is the name of the soy cheese, it is actually made in Sweden of all places. It is called Mini Chol and I found it in Safeway in the Gourmet Cheese section. It is $18.99 a kilo, a bit pricey but worth it, I just noticed though it has coagulated non fat milk, I didn't notice this before, I can actually eat it with out a problem, but I guess you need to be very careful. Hope this helps. Trish

Hey there!
I just thought I'd add my favourite soy stuff to the list...
Vitasoy strawberry milk - low fat and delicious!! (from the fresh milk section at coles, I actually like thier plain milk much more than other brands of long life soy too!)
and Fruccio soy ice cream - I've tried the chocolate and vanilla, they are so yummy and really low in fat, about 1.5 grams per serve and quite low in sugar (also from coles...freeze section near the sorbets etc)
Geez I sound like a commercial or something.
Emma
