Hello, I am the main cook in the house but my husband has IBS (we are just learning). So, I am learning how to cook differently. It is OK he is on the upside of a bad few weeks. Nausia, loss of weight, and the other usual symptoms. I don't have anything really to ask even though I have a bunch of questions. It seems that the answers are very individual. He did have his gal out almost 5 years ago. We did notice that he would have slight trouble after he had a drink, sometimes coffee too, lots of burping. Then one day this June his gut gave way and it stayed unhappy. I found Heather's website and we ordered the books did the break the cycle diet. It's a change of life but we will all be eating better. I look forward to reading up on foods to eat that the whole family will enjoy. It would be good to have an IBS shopping list. Thanks.

Welcome, Lefty!

I'm the cook in our house as well as the IBS-sufferer, but I'm happy to report that the meals I have made have been a hit. My husband has really liked them all, and so have my parents!

I hope your husband is feeling better! What a great wife you are to take such good care of him!

I'm the sufferer, but so far Bill seems ok with what I'm eating and we both cook- we work different days of the week, so he cooks at least twice if not 3 times, I do the same and we try to either cook together or eat simple the other nights... leftovers, etc... I've only been on this diet a week, but he is't a message board person so I don't expect to see him here.. though i know he is reading the part of the site about the diet and we've ordered heathers book from a local bookstore.. so should have that soon too.

we both like to be creative cooks though which is going to take some adjustment though I already made low fat/fat free and dairy free desserts a lot... so he's a bit unhappy that he can't make me desserts as easily as I cna make them for myself right now...
