I understand that bananas are a soluble fiber, and listed under the "safe foods', but aren't they constipating?? Are they still good to eat if you're IBS-C?

I am also IBS-C and eat bananas often and from what I've heard they are only constipating when they start getting brown spots. Just try and eat them when they are yellow and you should be fine

Hey, this is probably a dumb question but here it is...in a recipe it calls for 1 firm-ripe banana so does this mean the banana should be green, yellow or black?
Oh, also not sure about the whole constipating thing. And while on this topic i have another question. If you're IBS-D do u still eat bananas whole? Like not cooked or pureed or anything? Cause i'd be afraid that they would give me D. if we can eat them what colour are they when u eat them? Thanks!

The banana should be a bright pretty yellow! Thats nice and firm on the inside, the more brown the skin, the softer and riper it is.
I think I read here on the posts that bananas are not really constipating since they are fiber. You might do a search if you havent already.
