Hi everyone. I have a question about pasta. What do you put on it as a sauce that's not too rich? Tomatoe sauce isn't always good. What other alternatives are there? Thanks.

I love tortellinis -- in fact, we're having some tonight for dinner. Chicken Herb Tortellinis. I'm making a tossed green salad and throwing in the tortellinis, then using Kree's incredible dairy-free Ranch dressing, with a little soy parmesan sprinkled on top.
YUMMMMMMMMM.
Alternatively, if you have linguini or fetuccini, check out this fabulous recipe from Weight Watchers: web page

Hi Sara-Sage, Both the links are from the Recipe Index here on the boards. So they are safe. I clicked on the link sauces/rubs/condiments, etc. The bottom "white sauce" link looks very versitle. You can add different seasonings to your taste. Enjoy!

They're Buitoni. You find them near the dry pasta and canned tomato sauce, in the REFRIGERATED section. They also sell the bad kind (dead pig carcass, dairy, etc.), but you have to weed through those. I buy "Herb Chicken" with grilled onions, rosemary and garlic. However, they DO contain eggs, and at the bottom of the ingredient list they have egg yolk, so proceed with caution. I'm glad to say they don't bother me.
Normally I serve them hot with tomato sauce, but they're also fabulous at room temperature in a salad with Italian dressing or a nice pesto. (I LUV pesto!)
Damn I'm getting hungry....

I often put 1/2 a TBSP of safe margerine, grilled chicken breast sliced thin, and garlic salt.
Another option is sliced chicken breast with Hoisin Sauce for an Asian type meal.
I usually add zucchini or green beans on the side or mixed into the dish.

called Yummy recipe to use on rice noodles.... -- I think it tastes great on pasta as well. I add in whatever odd veggies and some chicken breast I have as well to make a full meal. I'll try and link the message -- I've never done that before... otherwise you can search for rice noodles and find it.

Everyone has given you some nice suggestions. But, when I really don't have time to do anything, I drizzle some really good extra virgin olive oil (I think Spanish is the best, and Goya is a nice brand), and some lemon pepper, garlic salt, and viola! If you can't tolerate that little bit of olive oil, try spraying it with olive oil Pam instead. You'll still get the flavor with a lot less fat. Also, fat free italian salad dressing is fine in a pinch, especially if you can open a can of olives or capers too. Sorry these are such college-y recipes, but I'm a law student and that's basically what I have time to make.
