Pages: 1 how to crush fennel seeds??       #75310 - 06/01/04 04:36 PM Edit Reply Quote genie Reged: 05/28/04 Posts: 52 sorry if this question has been asked before, i couldn't find it...for the fennel tea does the seeds have to be crushed and if so how do you crush? I find that when i put the whole thing in my tea 'chopped' or not, there's really no flavour. So i ate a few soaked seeds and whoa, there's all this flavour. A water glass will work, or a glazed cup will work, but best if it's unglazed pottery. Put a small bit of seeds (like a half teaspoon) on the kitchen counter. Put the cup over them and press down gently, grinding around in a circle a couple times. Scoop crushed seeds off the counter with your hand onto a saucer or into a cup or teapot (or a coffee filter) and pour hot water over them. Also good for crushing anise seeds or cardamom seeds.
