I have a question about Heathers pumpkin apple spice bread in her book...When it says 2 granny smith apples chopped - how chopped does it mean? Shouldnt it be made into applesauce? I was just wondering if there was chunks of apples in the bread when its done? Does anyone make this?

Yes, there should be chunks in there when it's done. They get really soft after baking and biting into them is fantastic! I usually chop my apples into about 1/2-inch square pieces... although I'm not really exact about it. I hope that helps!

I cut mine into 1/2" cubes as well. This is just the yummiest bread or desert. The recipe makes two. Hint: I put a toothpick into only one to test for doneness and it came out fine. But I should have checked both as for some reason one cooked better than the other. The second one needed about 10 mins more so next time I'll know better.
