Pages: 1 I need ideas for sauces to put on rice!       #57394 - 04/02/04 04:13 PM Edit Reply Quote Vicam Reged: 02/24/04 Posts: 1955 Loc: Ontario, Canada Hey Everyone, I've found that I'm eating a lot of rice lately, and I'm not a big fan of soy sauce and would really appreciate some ideas for sauce to put on the rice. I really like creamy sauces, but anything to flavor it up would be good. Either store bought or recipes, any ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks! They're really simple, if a bit slow and you can do all kinds of things. My recipe for mushroom risotto is on the Index and you could sub all kinds of things for the mushrooms. I like courgettes and peppers (chopped up real small they cook right down and so minimise insoluble fibre) or mushroom risotto with peas added near the end. Or you can add prawns, chicken.... Anything! Another idea is make some of Bevrs pesto and mix that with the cooked rice. I used to love real pesto and rice, but haven't tried it with the safe stuff.
