Hi everyone! My name's bella, and I'm new here on the forum and the website. I've suffered with IBS pains for a long time, but I'm hoping for relief through the products and suggestions found on this website. I read that French cuisine can be very hard on the digestive system, but I really love French food! I'd hate to give them up entirely. I was hoping that someone may know safe substitutions or recipes, so that French-style foods can be eaten without pain. If anyone has any suggestions or recipes to share, please let me know! Thanks!

Welcome. You can make French food, just leave off the cheese, butter and oil! Cassoulets and ratatouille type dishes made with less oil are fine. Eating lots of French bread is great! Otherwise French can be a tough cuisine to make safe.
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Thank you very much! I'll try making some of those, and I'll try substituting ingredients ( dairy ingredients, soy) as well. Hopefully it works out well!
