Easter Sunday meal?

I have just been given the joyful task of putting together a menu for my family of four for Easter Sunday. I'm a little new to cooking but I'm so incredibly excited as I've recently found a new love for it. I have Heather's cookbook and I know there is the recipe archive on the site but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for what might work well for that sort of meal? My family loves meat and salads and I'm a huge fan of bread. I've got IBS and my dad has diabetes (and is one of the pickiest eaters I've ever met!). Any suggestions on where to start or what to make would really be appreciated!

My family always did a ham for Easter. Perhaps you could make a turkey ham, or buy one of those lean pre-cooked boneless hams (which generally have far less fat than the raw, bone-in hams).

For sides you could do sweet potatoes or yams, and/or mashed potatoes made with light dairy-free margarine and soy/rice/almond milk, a Zuchinni Casserole (this has gotten rave reviews whenever I've made it), and maybe a side of IF vegetable like brocolli or brussels sprouts. Good luck and hope that helped!

I'm not sure - are you talking about Stove Top? I don't remember seeing MSG in the one that I bought - and I did check the ingredients. It was the cornbread variety. There are other brands, plus no-name store brands - maybe you could check the labels and see if you can find one without msg.

Hmmm. I will have to look more closely at my labels from now on! Thanks!
