We went apple picking today and my girls were over zealous. Have over 60 apples to use. Can I freeze homemade applesauce? Any other ideas. I'm making muffins and they want a pie.

It looks like it. Here's a Website with all kinds of info on freezing apples including applesauce: web page
It's my understanding, though, that raw apples will keep well for quite a while if they're stored in a cool, dark place.
Heather's Pumpkin Apple Spice bread is yummy and freezes well.
As for pie, try this:
Norwegian Apple Pan Pie
It's yummy if I do say so myself.

That site has some great ideas. I'll have to make some bread as well and check out your pie recipe.
Thanks!!

I don't know about applesauce but you can peel the apples, slice them and freeze them that way. Then you'll have them ready for making yummy recipes! My grandma used to do that.

I haven't made this in a while but now that the weather is cooling off it's a good time for it. It is very strongly flavored so it may not be a good kid recipe but it is yummy and does use up a couple of apples:

I did freeze some today all sliced up and ready for pie. Made another batch of applesauce and froze it as well. I'll be slicing and freezing more this week.

my grandmother always freezes her applesauce. It is better if you freeze it without the sugar, and then just add sugar when serving. Homemade applesauce is amazing!!!

I have an egg substitue called Ener-G. It's some kind of potato starch stuff. Works great.
