What do you use as a substitute for butter flavor when you cook fresh veggies, like broccoli and beans and asparagus? While I don't think butter effects me bad, do you have any other suggestions for making veggies tasty?

I'm kind of a purist - I think veggies taste best without butter. I just salt them. But that's just me.
Smart Balance Light is a good lower-fat buttery-tasting margarine. If you can tolerate a little (it's very little) dairy, the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray might be a good choice for you, too.

Thanks. I'm very new at this whole eating. I almost never ate bread for the last 16 years (after I got baby weight off) and now bread is my main staple. I'm also a big red meat lover and that has had to change. But I will say that I notice right away now when I eat something that doesn't agree with me. Thanks for your help with this.

I saw this in the store today and almost bought it but wasn't sure how it would taste. Is this better to eat than light smart balance?

The flavor is just a tad milder but you can only taste the difference if you eat it by itself. (I had to taste it - I don't make a habit of eating spoonfuls of butter )
