I give up. I cannot find a single box of angel food cake mix that DOES NOT contain milk. I made the Betty Crocker kind once (which does contain milk) and it didn't quite sit right with me; I think I'm just way too sensitive to dairy. Why is this so difficult???
Sorry, just wanted to vent because I'm too lazy to make it from scratch.
You can check Duncan Hines brand. Their angel food cake used to not have dairy, then it did, now DH is apparently taking dairy out again so give it a look. Even if DH angel food cake mixes do still have dairy, on my box dairy is listed as the last ingredient so it should be just a tiny bit - maybe that's less than the Betty Crocker brand has?
You can take a look at this thread for thoughts on finding a non-dairy angel food cake mix. It *is* annoying. Who ever heard of putting dairy in angel food cake?

Thanks, Sand. Why must this be so complicated?
The BC mix also lists nonfat milk as the very last ingredient, but it still seemed to give me problems. Besides, BC is the ONLY brand of angel food cake I've been able to find! My grocery stores have lots of DH cakes available, but no angel food cake! No generic angel food cakes either. ARRGGGHH!!

Nope! I have been tested for that. And I bake with egg whites quite a bit.

I just made this....my pan is made of 2 pieces and leaked on the oven. I got it out of the pan - but it looks uneven. Can you make this recipe in a bundt pan? I know you are not supposed to grease a pan with an angel food cake pan - but would you grease it in a bundt pan? Anne

As far as I know you NEVER grease a pan you're making angel food cake in. I don't know about using a Bundt pan but I've made this in 2 9-inch loaf pans and I've seen other people report making it in cupcake tins.

I make it in a bundt pan all the time, but I have never tried greasing it. It turns out OK like that.

Made it again in the bundt pan and sprayed it with a bit of "Pam with Flour". Pam with Flour has 0% on calories, Total fat, Cholesterol, Sodium, Carbohydrates and protein (it is made from Soy and Flour). Though you are supposed to hang the cake upside down on a bottle to let it cool - do not do this as the cake will fall out - mine did! - LOL!!!!! (I cooled it on a rack). The cake came out looking and tasting great! Would make it again. Anne
