Hi Ruthie...I read one of your posts on here and decided to check out your website/blog...you are quite the chef...I got so hungry reading it!! I so want to try the mini corndogs...they sound great. Would you mind posting the recipe on here...including the cornbread recipe...and if need be I can modify it for my IBS diet. I made some cornbread the other day with my vanilla soymilk and applesauce instead of all the oil and it didn't taste too good...so maybe your recipe is better. I used the recipe on the back of the cornmeal bag?! Also, you said that you took them on your trip so I'm wondering if they stay good if they're not refrigerated? I'm about to go on a small tour with my husband's band (yay!) and want to be prepared with the right food and these sound like they'll be perfect...as long as they'll stay good for several days in a plastic bag cause I won't have any way to refrigerate them. Anyway, please let me know...I'd like to go shopping Sunday for the ingredients. Thanks!!

I've read your original post several times and I don't see a question about TVP. Can you clarify? It might help us if you post a link to the website you're talking about as well.

Oh, sorry about the confusion...I guess my question wasn't real clear. Basically, I want to know if I make the mini corndogs...which are basically cornbread muffins with TVP "sausage" in the middle of them...if they'll stay good for several days WITHOUT being refrigerated? I bought some TVP this weekend, in it's raw form, but I read somewhere that once you rehydrate and season it that you should treat it like meat...so that's why I had the refrigeration question...cause I know if there was real meat in the corndogs I would NOT leave them in a bag for a few days and think they were still good. I'm a freak about letting meat sit out too long before refrigerating it...watched too many dateline specials about how fast bacteria starts growing. Anyway...I hope that clarifies my question?!?!
