Thanks to Shell! I took your idea and made it with the crushed candy canes, and it came out looking GORGEOUS! It's definitely the prettiest thing I've ever made. Thanks for the idea for the decoratively-challenged.

D'uh! I know it's scrumptuous. I just can't get it out of my head that it looks like a big donut. Must be watching too many Simpson's reruns.
Kate.

Ever wonder why mint is green but candy canes are red? I never understood that. How can both taste the same but have different colors?

Actually, I've seen green candy canes many times, but for some reason...they just aren't as tasty!
Imagine that.

Ooooh! I saw on TV that it's the white part of the candy canes that are mint flavored, and the red ribbons are just plain sugar candy. I'm guessing they use (colorless) mint extract to flavor the white part....

All I know is, I prefer the chocolate mint candy canes anyway. Mmm.

Ewww...I'm not a big fan of chocolate and mint.
Actually, my favorites aren't even mint flavoured! I really like the Crush canes, as unorthodox as they are.

I gave a dinner party last week, and in preparation for it, I asked my guest what she could and could not have and what she liked and did not like. Lucky her, she said there's nothing she can't have and there's nothing she doesn't like -- with ONE exception. The only thing she absolutely hates is chocolate mint.
Go figure.
