Yes! Angel food cake is fat-free and dairy-free, so it's pretty much the safest dessert there is. I hope you enjoyed it.

Do you mean already baked or a cake mix? Either way, I always check the ingredients first. I usually buy the cake mix, and I remember one of them actually had dairy in it so watch that. It's either Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines. I just know it was a red box and I have to check the ingredients ever time I buy it (which isn't often, that's why I always have to check) to see which one has dairy.

Thanks. I mean storebought. I guess only if they list the ingredients and there are no offenders.
Hmmm...maybe I should bake myself a cake! Does angelfood freeze well? I really used to like that kind and it liked me.

I've been okay with store-bought. Just make sure you don't get the sugar-free variety. They are lablelled as such, but sometimes they are right along side of the safe regular ones.
I haven't tried the mixes yet, though I have had a mix and the tube pan for almost 6 months!

I've frequently frozen angel food cake and it freezes fine. I do find that the mixes are a bit rubbery. From scratch the texture is better but it takes forever.
Pillsbury angel food cake mix is safe. At least last time I checked. The box I have is probably several months old. Every ready-made bakery angel food cake I've seen has had dairy in it, usually whey. I'm not sure why because I've never seen a recipe for angel food cake that calls for milk.
