Hi all!

So after Shell made such amazing pear bread for our Seattle get together, I thought I had to try making it!
Well, as always, my baking adventures are not without the adventure part so...
I had no pecans, and I just am not a big fan of nuts in baking (and my mom is allergic to a lot) so I left the nuts out. I am hoping that doesn't change the bread too much...
I thought I should make two loaves, so I would double the recipe.. so that's what I started doing. Then I realised that the recipe makes 2 loaves! So apparently, I am making 4!! But I only have one baking/bread tin!! So in this 80 degree weater, I will be baking for 4 hours straight, ha ha.
You should have seen me trying to mix that much as well... I must have about 5 bowls to clean now!
Anyway, it is in the oven now and it smells heavenly. I wish I had kept in mind that bread rises as it is right over the top now . When will I ever learn???
Let you know how it turns out!

Your sooo silly girl!! Now, I will just warn you now....the last two that you bake my not raise as high....that is because as soon as mix the wet with the dry ingredients the raising agents start to work....I'm sure it will still taste just fine... but just FYI. And don't worry about the nuts....no biggy there!! Good luck in the crazy heat and let us know how it turns out. LET IT COOL before slicing

If you're anything like me, you'll NEVER learn... I still make goofy little mistakes like, oh, realizing AFTER IT'S IN THE OVEN that I forgot a key ingredient, like, say, SUGAR. Hehehe.

It's all part of the adventure! Let us know how it came out!

Okay, so I apparently put WAY too much in the first pan.. it took 2 hours to bake!! I was really worried it would ruin the outside, but it just got really golden brown and it's actually my favourite part!!
The second two didn't rise as much, like Shell said but they sure cooked a lot faster! Because I used so much of the batter in the first pan, there wasn't a fourth.
I loved it. I didn't wait until it cooled (I shoulda checked the board earlier!) and me, my friend who came to lend me the extra pans, my mom, dad and neice all had some and we all loved it. I am going to freeze the two smaller ones.
Yummmmmmmmmmmmy.
