Beth, I like things really tart/sour and extreme. I would do a tablespoon and then taste to suit your taste buds.

This recipe totally made my night last night! I was over a friend's house earlier on in the afternoon and he was making traditional spaghetti and meatballs. Just watching him cook it made me want it so bad. I'm Italian, so that food reminds me of my dad's cooking. However, ever since being diagnosed with GERD 5 years ago, and then IBS, I can definitely not do tomato sauce. I remembered seeing this sauce on the recipe boards, and since I actually had the ingredients, decided to give it a whirl. It was great! Granted, not quite like the real tomato sauce, but the best substitution that I found so far. I added basil, oregano, and parsley to it, plus mushrooms and turkey bacon, and it was super yummy. Best thing of all, my reflux did not act up! And neither did my IBS!!! Thank you so much for this recipe
