Honey Oat Muffins- recipe problem- and other questions!

I am a newbie and I cannot believe this board. It is amazing to think how the internet can bring people together. This board is an amazing, unique reaource and gives me motivation and hope.
Questions:
I tried the Honey Oat Muffins from the newsletter and they did not turn out very well. They were very plain and tasted a lot like flour. Does anyone have any suggestions for more flavor?

I made the muffins when I first came on the board too - they turned out fine for me 
However, we are you from because I have seen Heather have to give out different measurements for the folks from Sweden, England etc. Maybe that's the trouble....

Wow! You responded to both of my posts today!
I tried the recipe in the newsletter, but just saw another one in the recipe index that is a little different.
Your recipe did not turn out very plain- all I tasted was the flour. Maybe I did something wrong.
By the way- I am in Ohio.

I did find the muffins to be kinda plain - but they never tasted like flour. Maybe you did mess something up?
If it's any consolation - I have messed up more recipes than anyone I am sure. I usually measure the ingredients exactly just so there are so mess ups, including having the measuring cups flattened off. Because even a little extra anything can cause you problems.
PS - I did answer both your posts LOL. I guess I have no life, but these boards.
