Ok, I'm baking for the holiday weekend. I'm leaving Thursday evening, coming back Monday, and I'd like my baked goods to last as long as possible. I'm making brownies and cookies. How long do cookies usually last? (They will probably get eaten fast once everyone joins us Friday). I think I'm more concerned about the brownies. I'm wondering if I should make those Thursday before work as opposed to Wednesday night. Would it make much of a difference?

Thanks!
Ginger

poppped them in the freezer until we leave... I actually tend to store them in the freezer anytime- keeps them from going bad or drying out!

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

My husband was in the military and I am the "queen of care packages"! I bake a lot for teachers and such.

Bake your brownies and once cooled put them in whatever container and add a slice of bread. The bread will absorb the "stale" and your brownies will stay nice and fress. I am not sure how it will work for the cakes...it's worth a try!
