Shell's recent visit to New Orleans got me to wondering....could there possibly be a safe (likely baked) Beignet recipe out there?

that sounds sooo yummy and you know all of us here..where there is a will there is a way...

Thanks, Kandee

they sell the mixes themselves at cafe du monde.. but i'm not sure if they are safe at all.. my dad buys them often though, brings them home and makes them.

IF the ingredients is safe (I just emailed Cafe de Monde)... then maybe we can cook them in a waffle iron intead of having them fried? I asked that in the email as well.

Toooo funny....they're that good aren't they?

Don't worry, they may be such a pain to make (like the baked donuts) that you wouldn' have the time to make them..(or would you? LOL)

Well, I'm hoping Kree, Casey, Melissa, Tamara or some expert here will come up with one, but then if it's baked wouldn't it be more like a popover? (hope not) Kandee
