Hello again,
I was just wondering if rice krispy squares are safe? I havnt tried a marshmellow in like a year. It seems like it should be safe, but im not quite sure. Has anyone experienced any symptoms after eating a rice krispy square?
thanks again

Two things:

First, be sure you're using Heather's recipe to make them, which calls for a reduced amount of canola oil instead of butter... butter, of course, isn't safe for IBSers!

Second, check the ingredients on the krispies themselves before you make the treats... the actual Rice Krispies brand contains high fructose corn syrup. I've been able to find store brands that don't, but you can also substitute other unsweetened or lightly sweet cereals (I've found that rice chex or a generic thereof make *great* treats).

Enjoy!
