Hold hte mango and feel or look for the bump that runs through the middle, that is the pit. Slice long ways with a knife along the pit on both sides so that you wind up with two halves. slice both ways along each half, so that you wind up with little squares. Pop the skin inwards and you should be able to lightly brush the little squares of flesh off if it is ripe enough. YOU may need to pull them off.
Some people (myself included) like to suck the mango fibres that get stuck to the pit. if you wanted slices I am sure that you could cut it in half, then peel off the skin and slice.
Sorry if it sounds confusing, it is really easy but hard to explain without a visual!

Sheri01 is right - I must have checked a half-dozen explanations for cutting up a mango and none of them made sense without a visual. Here are a couple of Websites to try:

http://lancaster.unl.edu/food/ciq-mango.htm
http://freshmangos.com/aboutmangos/

If neither of those help, go to Google.com and search on:
best way to peel a mango

When I was originally looking for how to peel and slice a mango, I found a Website that had bunches of suggestions from bunches of people. My favorite was the one that said:

Go to Trader Joe's and buy frozen mango slices!
