Hi! I have IBS-D and my miracle food is fresh salmon! i eat salmon 2-3 times a week and it is my favourite meal. It isnt heavy and it doesnt cause any pain or discomfort for me! Its also great for your health as well and it tastes delicious! Bonus!

Mmmm I love salmon too, don't get it fresh but the frozen is pretty good as well (and cheaper anyway)
Wouldn't say it *helps* with the IBS but it certainly doesn't hurt, and yes it's tasty! I have it a few times a week also

I have to agree - fresh, frozen, canned, smoked - it's all good! One of the nice things about Heather's diet is that it has made me eat more fish - like a typical Brit I tended to avoid it before, but now it's often my first choice.

Omega fatty acids baby! Yum! Eat em up'
Even better caught in the wild...
I've heard that canned fish can have mercury and is a prob for pregnant people. Anyone heard this?? Does this include canned slamon? Just curious......(I'm not pregnant...but I'm curious for my future!)

Regarding safe fish for women who are pregnant (or intend to be one day, like me too), avoid:
Shark
Swordfish
King mackerel
Tilefish
For tuna, go chunk light over albacore.., but keep it to less than 12 oz per week (Assuming you eat no other risky fish)
Cod, haddock, tilapia, flounder, and trout are reasonably safe (as long as you don't eat it every day)...
Salmon is kind of a controversy because of the wild/vs. farm raised thing. Recent studies show farm-rasied have toxins sometimes higher than wild salmon.
To be safe---don't eat skin, and trim away fat if you can.
This is one of the MAIN reasons I wanted to work for the EPA. I love fish, and we can't just eat to our heart's content because we've wrecked the environment. What would be a healthy food, is dangerous because we made it that way.
