How are all of you figuring out the calories in a recipe/portion? For example, last night I made the Baked Chicken, Ginger and Soy recipe (the one with plums but I used peaches per Casey's hint). This is one of our favorite recipes but I have no idea how many calories are in a portion. Do you look up each ingredient in a calorie finder and then divide by the number of people it is supposed to serve? Isn't this really timeconsuming but how else would you do it?

Thanks for any help. I'm really trying to watch my caloric intake and get in shape for summer. Wasn't sure to post this here or on the Fitness Board.

Yes, that is what I do... I do the math for ALL ingredients and then note that on the recipe page. Then you divide by how many servings YOU get out of it that time. Then the next time you make it.. your note with the calorie total is already written down. Hope that helps. A great resource for looking up calories is www.calorieking.com

It is a good question for either board....

Thanks Shell. I'm going to check out calorieking. And I especially like your comment about "how many servings YOU get." So many times a recipe says it'll serve 4 and the two of us gobble it up!! Or it says 4 and we could get 5 servings. Thanks for your help.
