I want to make chicken fingers and I was wondering where I can get bread crumbs that are safe. Have any of you found a safe brand? I seem to only find ones that have dairy or MSG. Any suggestions?

You could always make your own, then you know they are really safe. Just let some bread sit out till it drys and crumble...perfect and safe!!! If you have a bread machine you could even make your own bread.

I crushed some safe store bought rosemary seasoned plain breadsticks to crumble on top of my soy mac and cheese...GREAT!

A lot of times I whirl some old bread (italian or baguette type) in a food processor. But if your store has a good asian section look for Panko. They are Japanese bread crumbs and are safe and make awesome faux fried things! Really good and light!

FINE DRY CRUMBS
Oven-toast stale bread at 300 degrees until crisp and dry. Crush with a rolling pin, or add to a blender (or food processor) a little at a time. Cover and blend until finely crushed. Each slice makes about 1/4 cup fine dry crumbs
Then... you can even make....
SEASONED BREAD CRUMBS
2 c. fine bread crumbs (use any method to make these)
1/3 c. instant onions
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
1 tbsp. seasoned salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. Italian seasoning
Add garlic powder or salt if desired
Mix well and put in tight jar. Store in cool place.

I buy kosher Matzo Meal. It's totally safe and makes a great sub for regular breadcrumbs! It's usually in with the Jewish/Ethnic foods.

This recipe worked perfectly! I over-worked some bread dough and the bread was way too dense. So I sliced it and let it sit out for a week to get stale, baked it for a while, and then put everything in the blender. I added the seasonings too, and it tastes great! I was running low on bread crumbs, and now I filled up my store-bought bread crumb container instead.
