Gingerbread Cookie Dough Mishap

I was making the gingerbread people cookies and I realized that I must have over mixed the dough cause its all mushy and didn't come close to forming into a ball. Can I add more flour to the mixture or should I just start over? Oh, I am new to the boards and I've been diagnosed with IBS for 1 month yesterday.

I made ginger snaps out of the bad dough and made a new batch for the gingerbread people. Ah Well
