1 1/2 c water 1 T sugar 1 t salt 1/2 t baking soda 3 1/2 c flour 1/4 c dry milk powder 2 t yeast

What are the instructions for this recipe? Is it a loaf of bread and if so, what size and what setting do you set the machine for? Or, does it just make the dough in the machine and not bake it, and if so, how do you make the dough into English muffins? What temp & how long to bake?
Hope this makes sense.

Hi Mags - sorry my instructions weren't complete. It makes a loaf of bread. Set to "regular" crust and "basic" bread. If I use quick rise yeast I set it to "quick baking". Sorry, I don't know what poundage the loaf is for..I have a 2 pound machine. I understand if you can't use the recipe in the index. What an awesome job you must be doing...it is a huge undertaking.

Hi Lisa - no prob, I just wasn't sure. I guess I was thinking English muffins and I got confused. That is good to know about 2 lb setting though - my machine does either 1, 1.5, or 2. I love trying new bread recipes - and while doing the index I noticed you were the bread queen! LOL I can't wait to try some of them. And don't worry - I did add this one to the index. Oh yeah - and on the latest index, I grouped all the bread machine recipes together, like I do with slow cooker ones. Hopefully I didn't miss any.
Anyway, I am from South Jersey, not far from Philly.

I have some because I used to put it in my bread machine recipes, but I just assumed that I can't use dry milk on Heather's diet. Is dry milk different?

Use dry rice or soy milk. One brand name that I know of is is Better Than Milk. They don't have an official website that I know of, but here's some links you can see info on the product: Better Than Milk Rice or Better Than Milk Soy

I certainly hope the Better than Milk Soy is better than the Better than Milk Rice..........that rice stuff is horrid!!! But maybe ok in a bread recipe. I'd use a dough enhancer or egg replacer to add the texture that the dry milk would normally provide.
