I love sticky rice and it seems, to make it right, you steam it instead of boil it. Other than sushi (and a veggie fried rice) I've only found this Thai dessert web page that sounds wonderful but calls for coconut milk. I suppose you could sub with rice or oat or almond milk with some coconut extract added, to replace the coconut milk, but what ELSE can you do with sticky (sweet) rice?

I have actually made Will's Dream Rice Pudding with it...in the EFI Recipe book. It turned out excellent...I really like it!

can anyone tell me how to cook sticky rice? I have a bag of it at home given to me by a friend but I have no idea how much rice & water to combine. I have a rice steamer that use so if anyone could tell me what to do with the stuff, I'd appreciate it. thanks Meryl

You want to use the rice cooker? Is that right? For mine I take like 3 cups jasmine rice -with the little cup they give (or 1 1/2 of real cups)and 4 1/2 cups water (or 2 1/2 real cups.) You use less water in a steamer machine. Anyway I don't rinse the rice and I just turn on the machine and it is always good and sticky. I had rice at a nice Chinese restaurant lately and it was awful.
