Yep... it's me! You're talking to the newest high school special education teacher at the Thousand Islands Central School District in Clayton, NY. I had an interview with the superintendent on Tuesday and they offered me the job that afternoon. I'm especially excited to be working in this district because I grew up spending my summers about 15 minutes away in the town of Alexandria Bay, so I'm very familiar with the area and have always felt like it was my second home. Plus my mother's cousin lives up there (and actually teaches at the elementary school in the same district), so I'll have a family member nearby in case I get lonely or need help with anything. All in all I just think this job was meant to be. Thank you all soooo much for your support and good wishes. They obviously paid off! I'm finallly a teacher... woohoo!!

Now to find an apartment and move North within the next week and a half...

Kree, that job sounds *perfect* for you - wonderful! Congrats!!

Good luck with the apartment-hunting and moving, too! (I know, that's the "fun" part, haha.)

Congrats, sweetheart! Your first teaching job! Remember the first year is by far the toughest. I have a spec. ed specialist and taught spec. ed for years so let me know if you need any advice - you can e-mail me, too. Not that I have all the answers, though.
I remember my first teaching year - ahhh... the days ....
I'm so happy for you.
