I have sharp, throbbing pain in my upper stomach and I'm in tears over it. I haven't had this kind of pain in along time. Hopefully with some sleep it will pass by morning.
I hate to call in my first week on the job. At least I work at the hospital, so if I have too much pain tomorrow there are doctors all around me.

Could it be bad gas? I get pain there sometimes and take a Zantac and it goes away completely. Or could you be constipated? Try a heating pad or a hot bubble bath.

Hi Barbara,
Do you think you could have trapped gas? Maybe try some gas pills or heating pad.
Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Poor thing... I third the idea that it might be gas. Unfortunately, I get that kind of stomach pain a lot.
If you drink more tonight, make it warm things, sipped slowly. A heating pad usually works for me; have it as high as you can stand it against bare skin. Every now and then, roll over and lay on your left side for 10 minutes or so... it sounds kooky, but for some reason, laying on your left side seems to work.
I hope you feel better soon.

Oh no that is so horrible! I hope you feel better sweetie. I know sometimes if I have unbearabloe tummy pains it is gas-related (even if it doesn't feel like it) and ginger helps it move along in a more timely fashion. I am sure that whatever it is you will feel better by time you go to work tomorrow, so just take it easy and relax and try to get lots of sleep tonight.

Barb, any idea what it is? It's not an IBS cramp if it's in the upper stomach, so do you think it's indigestion or heartburn? Sharp, throbbing pain.... hmm ..... no clue.
Yeah, if I were you, I'd just go right in to work in my PJs and ask for a bed. Got any cute docs there?
Get better soon -- and keep us posted, eh?

Boy I sure wish all I have is trap gas. The ER doctor ordered blood test and x-rays and everything looks normal. I have to go in for an ultra sound of my gallbladder tomorrow morning. The doctor thinks it could be a stone and if it isn't, it is IBS. The pain is in an unusal spot this time - all upper and under my right rib cage.
Will keep you all posted.

Hi Barbara,
So sorry you are in pain. It does sound like it could be gallbladder, especially with severe pain in that region. I know you will be relieved to find out what it is and get treatment. Keep us posted.
Good luck Barbie
