Hey Guys,

I doubt I'm going to have much luck with this, but since I'm moving and new place won't have as much storage, I'm going to be getting rid of my old magazines. I'm a huge magazine buyer, and I have tons, and I'm loathe to throw them all out. So, if anyone happens to have any ideas for something I could do with them, I would greatly appreciate it. Moving is practically bankrupting me, so any way I can make a few extra bucks would be helpful. I've looked at the ebay auction, but magazines don't seem to sell well there...anyways, just thought I'd throw it out there and see if you guys had any suggestions

Ebay may not be a bad idea if you sell them in large enough lots. I would sell an entire year of Cosmo, for example.

But honestly, I think you are going to have the chuck 'em! Most people don't read old magazines...although maybe you will get lucky?

Yeah, ebay is useless for magazines... unless you happen to have some old sci-fi magazines in your stash, or some older issues of Rolling Stone. Actually, I've sold older copies of knitting/crochet/craft magazines, in lots, and they've sold pretty well. For the most part, though, it's not worth the trouble of listing them.

I know it won't get you any cash, but how about donating them? Then at least you won't be *throwing them out*, you know? Some thrift stores take them... other ideas are hospitals (contact the auxiliary or the volunteer department) and schools (the art department, especially).

Hey Casey,

I was thinking of doing that. I have one contact in Canada who runs a "back-issue" magazine business from home and she may buy some of them, and I would definately try and donate the rest, because scrapping them all just seems so pointless. I never thought of school art departments though...good idea
