I love it. We've been living here for 34 yrs and it's paid off! YAY!!! Had it built for $40,000 and now it's worth $150,000. I couldn't get all of it on camera but it extends on right and left. Just wanted to share with all the house pics.

Holy cow, your house is GORGEOUS! I'm a window person, and I can't stop looking at those arched windows with the diamond panes... *sigh*! *And* it's paid off - that's the best part! Haha. I won't be saying that for a looooong time....
Beautiful!

Tudor style! It's beautiful, Sis! And so NEAT too! Yowza! Who does your gardening for you? Everything is trimmed so perfectly. My favorite thing is the fountain on the right. Or is it a birdbath? It looks like a birdbath except there's something on top....?
Beautiful house, Sis -- you did a nice job on it! At a fantastic price too! That house up here would cost well over $300K. And in California, you'd have to pay double that!
Don't ever move.
Thanks for sharing.

It is a great feeling to have it PAID OFF. You will be there someday, too.
Thanks for the compliment. I love the arch windows, too. As a matter of fact, my computer is in the room with the three large arches and I can look out and watch the squirrels and birds while I answer posts.

Barbie, thats a beautiful house!!! I bet all those years ago $40,000. was alot of money to spend on a house? I know my parents bought their house when i was in the first grade, back in 1977 i believe, they paid $17,000.for a 5 bedroom/2 bathroom house. It needed some TLC but they slowly remodeled it as they could afford it.They have it up for sale now(they no longer need 5 bedrooms for the 2 of them!)they just got an offer on it for $97,000.Amazing to think they only paid $17,000 to begin with! We just bought a 4 bedroom house almost 1 year ago and unless we win the lottery i dont think we will have it payed off by retirement age, sigh!

Your house is beautiful! And you have a very pretty yard. I'm looking at all that green grass and wondering what kind of grass you have. We lived in Texas and Louisiana and had either centipede (my favorite) or Bermuda. Here in N.C., we have cool weather grass and I hate it. After 3 years of living here, it still seems odd to have green grass in the winter and brown stuff in the summer! That's backwards to me!!!! It looks like straw during the summer. This stuff doesn't look good unless you water it every day---and who has time for that?
By the way, your house reminds me so much of a house my parents had in Louisiana. It makes me homesick looking at your picture.

Thanks, Sis, for the compliment.
Hubby & I do all the yard work. I mainly mow and he does the trimming and edging...he's an engineer so that's why everything is so straight & neat. I think yardwork has become a hobby for both of us in our "old age". When I get stressed out I just go out there and mow and... gosh darn.. I feel a lot better. BTW, we have to mow twice a week here because the grass grows so fast.
The cost of housing in Houston is really low compared to other places. I know we have a bargain and...believe me...I don't think I will be going anywhere.
Oh, yeah, almost forgot..... it is a birdbath with a squirrel in it. We had more fun picking that out!
Can't wait to see more pics of your new home!!

Now I really can picture you mowing your yard while I'm all full of mud and putting my grass in!
You have a beautiful house. The landscaping looks gorgeous.

That's such a beautiful house! Everything looks so perfect. I almost fell of my chair when I saw the value. Something like that would be hmmm, I'm guessing between $300,000 and $400,000 here in Minnesota. Yikes, we paid $169,900 for ours and it's only 1800 sq ft, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Here's a pic of ours, keep in mind that there now is a retaining wall under the front window, perrenials and annuals planted along the walk and garage, and there is no longer that square border around the front tree...it's circle with perrenials planted inside. Oh my gosh! That brought back memories. That looks JUST like a house I lived in for a few years when I was little. It's adorable!
It's funny - my sister lives in CA, and she said that for what me and Justin paid for our house, you could buy a garage in CA. LOL. We paid $160,000. That was a LOT higher than we wanted to, but we set a budget and we're trying to make it work because we love the house.
