I'm into my second day of a migraine and feel terrible. It is so hot here, up near 100 for several days now. In dealing with my migraines I always end up with a stomach ache and D. The biggest problem is that I have always felt the need for a Dr. Pepper when I have a migraine. It is one of those comfort things for me plus many times the caffiene helps. Usually this doesn't sit right with my stomach. Also, the Immitrex or asprin that I take don't help much either with my stomach.

My headaches usually last 3 days so I am looking forward to tomorrow when it will hopefully be gone.

I feel for you! I use to have really bad migrains(sp?) too.
It's funny that you mention Dr.Pepper as a comfort thing. I always seem to crave it too.
I now drink Caffeine free Dr. Pepper flat. My husband can't understand why I make sure it's flat before I drink it now. Oh well.
I hope you feel better soon!

So sorry you are feeling bad. Darn those migranes!!!
Have you tried the diet Dr. Pepper. The regular soft drinks have HFCS in them and I can't drink them. The diet ones don't have it. Although it is probably the carbonation that causes most people the problems.

Whew, it is hot here, too. And....sooooo humid. Thank goodness for AC!

Feel better soon

Yuck... a three day migraine, how awful. I hope your head feels better soon, I'll be thinking about you.

(Also, did you know there's a Dr. Pepper lipgloss/chapstick? Would just a little of the taste on your lips help?)

Janey,
My daughter suffers from frequent migraines, and she drinks Dr. Pepper, too. Also, Excedrin for Migraines has caffeine in it, and she also gets relief with that.
Hope your suffering eases soon,
Terri

Janey, what's causing these headaches? They last 3 days? So this is a recurring thing for you? Have you discussed it with your doctor?

Wonder what it is about Dr. Pepper that's a comfort food for you? Do you think, then, that the cause of the headache, cramping and D is the heat? Didn't you tell me that you have air conditioning over there? When I was complaining of the heat wave we had (thankfully it didn't last), you mentioned the AC -- I think? I can't tolerate any kind of heat; it affects me just like it does you. It's all about seratonin levels in the brain....

Hope the weather cools down soon for you as it did me. Of course, Jack always comes to my rescue.

Bev

That's true!! Bonne Belle makes it. It's part of those Lip Smackers collections. I loved it to death

Get to feeling better, Janey!! I've never had a migraine, but just plain old headaches make me whine, so I can just imagine what you're going through! Maybe you can load up on Ibuprofen (If it's available and stomach willing), turn the air on full blast, and try to get some rest? Take care~

Thanks Shell, It is 1:30 am and I am up. Just can't seem to sleep tonight. My head feels a bit better so hopefully tomorrow it will be completely gone. I don't know what it is about Dr. Pepper. All I know is that when I have a migraine I crave it.

Bev,

LOL! Jack might do me in since I rarely drink. I have had these darn 3 day migraines for several years now. I have a great doc and have had CT scan and an MRI which both showed nothing wrong with my brain. I'm sure there is something but they just couldn't detect it while doing the scan.

We do have air but it is set up differently over here. Each room as its own unit. So if I am doing things in another room for a few mins. I won't turn the A/C on. Also there is no air in the bathrooms or the laundry room. Many of the stores don't have air and it has been so hot that going out to walk the dog it horrible. I don't seem to handle the heat as well as I used to when I was younger. Oh no, I am starting to sound like my mother.

Terri,

Migraines are the worst. Sorry that your daughter also suffers from them. Funny that she turns to DP also. I used to take excederin but can't anymore because it give me D.

Thanks Barbie,

I can't drink diet anything anymore because of the artificial sweetner. If I don't already have a headache I get one if I drink diet. Thanks for the well wishes. Try to stay cool.

Thanks, my headache is starting to go away. You know that feeling that it is almost gone but if you hit your head on anything it would be back. I have heard of people drinking DP hot too. I have never tried that though. I'll have to try it flat and see how it goes.

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I completely forgot about the Bonnie Bell lip gloss. I used to buy those for my girls for Christmas when they were younger. I'll have to keep an eye out.
